Airport hacks to get through the facility in a short time

Getting through the airport can seem somewhat tedious with so many travellers dragging their suitcases behind them. Since the process can be a little time-consuming,  flyers are recommended to reach the facility hours before the take-off time to ensure they do not miss their flight. To help them out, here are a few time-saving airport hacks. Have a look!

Airport hacks to save time

  1. Wear your bulky clothes:

To avoid checking in bags at the airport, it is advised to wear the bulkiest clothing items. Doing so will help make space in the handbag for other stuff. For expert packers, wearing bulky clothes might mean carrying all the essentials in a single bag they will bring onboard. While it may turn out to be a sweaty experience, it can save flyers from waiting in an interminable baggage check-in line.

  1. Check-in online:

Checking in online is like a no-brainer. This way, travellers can avoid waiting in the never-ending check-in queue to get their boarding passes printed. On a few occasions, checking in online may also allow flyers to choose or change the seat selection.

  1. Book an overnight flight:

A red-eye flight may mean exhaustion due to lack of sleep, but it helps get through the airport faster. It is so because airport terminals are considerably less crowded at night. Thus, it is recommended to book a flight after 10 p.m. as it means small queues and less time at the airport.

  1. Sign-up for TSA:

Signing for TSA pre-check is recommended as it helps travellers speed through the security screening process. The flyers get to wait in a special line that is much shorter than the general security line. Those standing in this queue do not need to take off their shoes or unpack laptop bags.

  1. Research the airport’s layout:

One smart way to save time at the airport is to research its layout in advance. Doing so helps identify the best route to the gate so flyers can save a few valuable minutes. By checking out the airport’s map, travellers can pick the right security line and memorize the correct route ahead of time.

  1. Pick a security line with fewer agents:

While no one can tell which security line will be the quickest, more often than not, the queues with fewer TSA agents are faster. It is so because lines with multiple agents typically mean some official is being trained. It increases the possibility of pauses for scrutiny.

  1. Opt for security lines at the end:

Picking the line at the farthest end of the Delhi Airport Terminal means a long walking passage to the gate. What it also suggests is that these queues are often the least crowded and out of the way. So, passengers in a hurry should head to the most remote line to find the shortest queue.

While flying to your destination is an exciting experience, getting through the facility can be a little time-consuming. Thus, it is best to follow a few time-saving hacks to avoid waiting in the queue for hours.
